![]() Seattle is a big city. The main part of it runs North-South between Puget Sound on the West and Lake Washington on the East. The picture above is looking East over a part of the Sound. ![]() The picture to the left is from the Space Needle. It shows the main downtown business district. Some of the architecture is pretty impressive. Once out of the immediate waterfront area, the city spans a number of hills and ridges. This means that many of the homes in and around Seattle have nice views. Unfortunately, with the amount of rain over the past winter, the hills have shown an unwelcome propensity for turning into mud and sliding down into valleys or the Sound. A lot of property has been lost over the past winter, and evidently insurance doesn't cover that type of loss. | |||||
